The Tracy Fly Fishers has a tradition of providing educational opportunities for club members. These opportunities include fly tying, fly casting, rod building, entemology, and on stream fishing.
Casting in the Park
Tbe casting in the park program provides an opportunity to learn how to cast, brush up on your skills, or just hang out and network with other fly fishers. Casting in the park takes place in Dr. Posers park behind (to the west) of theswimming pool. The classes take place on the second Wednesday at 6pm beginning Wednesday, March 11th (they are offered only during daylight savings hours).
Beginning Fly Tying
A beginning fly tying course is being offered for those new to fly tying. It will cover the basics of fly tying. There is a $25 fee to cover the costs of materials. The classes will meeting on five consecutive Tuesdays beginning March 10th and running through April 7th.
Materials Class
A fly tying materials class will be held. This class is designed for people that are familiar with the basics of fly tying and are ready to move on to the next step. There is a $20 fee to cover materials. This class will be held on four consecutive Tuesdays beginning April 28th and running through May 19th.
Intermediate Fly Tying
An intermediate fly tying class will be held. This class is designed to be the next step in the tier's development. There is a $25 fee to cover the cost of materials. The class will be held on fourconsecutive Tuesdays beginning in September exact date to be announced..
Rod Building
A rod building class will be held. This class is designed for people who are interested in the tools and techniques involved with building rods. The students will build their own carbon fiver rod. There is an $85 fee to cover the cost of the rod kit. The student has the choice of the weight rod that they can build. The class will be held on four consecutive Tuesdays beginning in October exact date to be announced.
Bass Popper Class
For all you folks interested in learning how to build bass poppers, there will be a one day bass popper class held in November. Date to be announced.
