Mark Your 2010 Calendars... All TFF Fishouts require the possession of a current CA Fishing License All events with children REQUIRE the use of personal flotation devices when on the water See the attachments at the bottom of this page for more information on each outing or email: Outings@tracyflyfishers.org April 24th - Opening Day of Trout Season at White Pines (near Arnold) White Pines Lake (near Arnold) is a great place for beginners to learn the "ins and outs" of float tubing. While trout season is now open year-round (catch and release) in many places, the last Saturday in April is still the "official opening day" where bag limits go into effect. White Pines is a "put and take" stocked public impoundment... so don't feel bad about taking a few home with you! Fishmeister: George Strickland May 29th - TFF Family BBQ at Kistler Bass Ranch For those of you that have been around a few years (and can even remember a few years back), you might recall our annual family BBQ at the Tracy Wildlife Area. Well... with summer vacations and such "getting in the way"... we decided to combine our family day with the Kistler Bass Ranch fishout. The club rents the Kistler property (between Oakdale and Jamestown) for the day giving club members exclusive use of their three ponds and we (the club) provide a first class bar-be-que lunch. So... who said there's no such thing as a free lunch? Fishmeister: Steve Potter Please note: Attendance is limited to club members and their immediate families. June 11/12/13 - Davis Lake With the elimination of Pike, Davis was really looking like its old self for last year's fishout... and it can only be getting better! The goal is to try and hit the famous Davis Damsel Hatch which is almost predictable at this time in June. Due to the travel distance, we make this a 3 day outing. Typically club members stay at one of three public campgrounds and get together not only for fishing, but for some good camaraderie
and pot luck meals. Fishmeister: Ben Byng June 12th - Sawmill Lake OUTING HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO SNOW AND LACK OF INTEREST Sawmill Lake is a pay-to-play lake and is limited to the first 8 club members that sign-up and pay for the chance to land a real lunker! Located on the Northstar Ski Resort property (near Truckee), our club sponsor Joe Cerniglia loads this lake with some real hogs that will give you a fight and a half. September 23/24/25/26 - Pit River / Iron Canyon Not much more can be said of this outing than... you don't want to miss this one! The premier outing of the year that many club members look forward to... and if you've been on this one before then you know what I mean. Pit River Dan (Freeman) arranges for us to stay at PG&E Camp Pit near Big Bend giving us access to some of the finest stretches of the Pit River in addition to float tubing opportunities at nearby Iron Canyon Reservoir. Other "nearby" fishing opportunities include the McCloud River and Reservoir, Hat Creek and Baum Lake. Additionally, you could be crowned the Liar's Dice King and walk away with a few extra bucks in your pocket! There is a small fee to attend this outing to cover the cost of the cabin rentals. Cabins provide full kitchens with refrigerators, stoves, microwaves and coffee makers, bathrooms with hot showers and flush toilets and two bedrooms with beds. Linens and towels are not provided. An ice machine is also located in the swimming pool area. Maximum occupancy per cabin is 6, but we try to limit it to 4 or 5 for "comfort". Fishmeister: Dan Freeman / Mike Carlson |
